The pencil appears to be in good functional condition. The pencil has typical light scratches common with use on chrome writing instruments. When you rotate the green dial on the top of the button end it extends and retracts the lead. We are not familiar with these so we have not tried to take it apart to figure out how the lead is installed. These were produced in the 1960's and the " 20 " in the name refers to the diameter of the lead in thousandths of an inch which is equivalent to 0.5mm. In it's day the Eagle 20 was pioneering design in the United States for fine line mechanical pencils. The pencil is engraved at the cap and barrel connection band with " EAGLE 20 ENGLAND 20 ". Please study photos as they are part of the description.
