IT DOES WORK PROPERLY BUT DOES HAVE A HARD ERASER. I THINK PROBABLY FROM THE 1930'S. FOR ITS TIME IT WAS PROBABLY CONSIDERED CHEAPLY MADE. BY TODAYS STANDARDS IT WOULD BE A QUALITY PRODUCT.
