Mechanical Pencil with Hanging Ring, 3 ½ inches long, unmarked, probably early 1900’s, probably American, wear to the plating, some minor dents to the casing, missing lead, interesting vintage pencil that was meant to hang from a chatelaine or a fob, silver plated brass case with embossed swirls for easy grasping, the point end has a wide mouth for holding a very thick piece of lead, possibly for a tradesman rather than for writing a note, the interior worm mechanism works and extends an interior tube that holds the lead, there seems to be something stuck inside at the bottom, though if you have a large lead it should still fit, the lead will retract into the casing to prevent accidental marking, I don’t believe that it ever had a end cap, the wear to the plating reveals brass underneath which gives it a nice patina.
