Vintage Sheaffer Balance "rigid radius clip" style carmine red celluloid pencil. The pencil propels lead as it should. Although the mechanism works well, the back half of the barrel cannot be removed. This does not affect the function, it only makes the eraser inaccessible. Slight wear (bracing) to the clip visible in the photo, otherwise very good condition for its age. Vintage leads can still be sourced for these. The pencil has the correct imprint, though it may be difficult to see in the photograph. Nice vintage writing instrument, easy to use and maintain.
